September 2020 – POSITION ON HYPERSPECTRAL REMOTE SENSING AT LTDA (ASSEGNO DI RICERCA TECNOLOGICO)
The Remote Sensing of Environmental Dynamics Laboratory (https://ltda-disat.it/) of the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, University of Milano – Bicocca (Italy) is developing remote sensing tools for the quantitative estimation of land surface properties and environmental modelling by drone. The LTDA team is looking for one postdoctoral fellow for a recently funded project dealing with hyperspectral data from drone platforms.
The core activity of the postdoctoral fellow is firstly to collaborate in the integration and set-up of a point spectroradiometer and a hyperspectral imaging system on board of a light drone platform. Secondly, to define the processing chain up to derive reflectance products and land surface property maps. The candidate will also be involved in field campaigns to collect data for soil and vegetation applications.
The ideal candidate holds a PhD or equivalent experience in a pertinent field with background in environmental engineering, physics, geology or environmental sciences. She/he has experience in field spectroscopy, drone systems and can efficiently analyse remotely sensed images and publish research in peer-reviewed journals. Willingness and ability for field trips is also required. Excellent English communication skills are a prerequisite.
This is a full time position (40 hours/week) available for two years, from January 2021 to December 2022. The salary is within a range of 25-35000 EUR per year, according to experience and skills.
